For those:
For those who have spent most of our adult lives as a married couple, or single person. Now we are at a point in our lives where social contacts and friendship are particularly important.
Why Solo:
SOLO Spouse is a social group in which we share interests and experiences, learn to manage what our spouse or our friends once did for us, and develop new relationships with others both within and outside of our parish.
We all fear being alone at times, particularly during weekends or holidays, or during illness or after an accident. We might have family members or friends in our lives, but we lack that special someone who is there for us every day.
Our purpose is to help to by offering a safe environment, friendship, and fellowship to our members. With the solo Group, you no longer will be the 3rd or 5th wheel.
HOW IT WORKS:
- We have coordinators who arrange events.
- We publish those events in a monthly calendar. The calendar is available in the St. Elizabeth Seton Parish Office.
- Members sign-up at our monthly meeting or by call or text with coordinators.
Recent events have included:
- Entertainment at meetings
- Invitation to bible studies & grieving workshops
- Bingo at local churches, cards/games.
- Meals at restaurants, book/culture club
- Discount play tickets, clean comedy shows.
- Concert information
- Museum & factory tours
- Luke Air Force Base tour
- Lake Pleasant Cruise
What we are not:
- We are not a singles group.
- We are not a place to tell everyone our problems.
- We are not a place to air our complaints about life.
- We are not a bereavement group. Nor a therapy session.
When:
Call Art Major, group leader, at 623-444-2647 for time and place of the monthly group meeting.
